Toyota Avalon Service & Repair Manual: Power Steering Control Torque (C1A71)

DESCRIPTION

If the power steering ECU (rack and pinion power steering gear assembly) detects an abnormality in the steering torque requested by the forward recognition camera, the power steering ECU (rack and pinion power steering gear assembly) sends a malfunction signal to the forward recognition camera, and DTC C1A71 is stored.

2 seconds after the power switch is turned on (IG), a malfunction signal from the power steering ECU (rack and pinion power steering gear assembly) is detected by the forward recognition camera for 5 seconds or more.

NOTICE:

The lane departure alert system (w/ steering control) uses the CAN communication system. First, confirm that there are no malfunctions in the CAN communication system. Refer to How to Proceed with Troubleshooting.
