INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT COMBINATION SWITCH (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Inspect the "NORMAL" or "NORMAL/CUSTOM" mode switch:

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Tester Connection

Condition

Specified Condition

13 (B) - 16 (GND1)

"NORMAL" or "NORMAL/CUSTOM" mode switch being pushed and held

Below 1 Ω

"NORMAL" or "NORMAL/CUSTOM" mode switch not pushed

10 kΩ or higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the combination switch (electric parking brake switch assembly).

(b) Inspect the "SPORT" or "SPORT S/S+" mode switch:

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Tester Connection

Condition

Specified Condition

12 (P) - 16 (GND1)

"SPORT" or "SPORT S/S+" mode switch being pushed and held

Below 1 Ω

"SPORT" or "SPORT S/S+" mode switch not pushed

10 kΩ or higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the combination switch (electric parking brake switch assembly).

(c) Inspect the illumination:

(1) Apply battery voltage to the combination switch (electric parking brake switch assembly) and check that the switch illuminates.

OK:

Condition

Specified Condition

Battery positive (+) → Terminal 3 (ILL+)

Battery negative (-) → Terminal 7 (ILL-)

Illuminates

If the result is not as specified, replace the combination switch (electric parking brake switch assembly).
