DESCRIPTION When TRAC or VSC is operating, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) blinks the slip indicator light to inform the driver that slippage occurred. When a communication malfunction with the ECM is detected, TRAC and VSC are disabled. Also, TRAC and VSC are disabled when a DTC is stored. CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT NOTICE: After replacing or reinstalling the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly), perform system variant learning and acceleration sensor zero point calibration. Click here PROCEDURE
(a) Check whether the slip indicator light was illuminated when VSC did not operate. OK: The slip indicator light was illuminated. HINT: When a DTC is stored, the slip indicator light is illuminated and VSC does not operate due to the fail-safe function. (b) Check whether the vehicle speed was 15 km/h (9 mph) or less when VSC did not operate. OK: The vehicle speed was 15 km/h (9 mph) or less. HINT: VSC does not operate when the vehicle speed is 15 km/h (9 mph) or less. (c) Check whether the vehicle was driven straight for a few seconds at 15 km/h (9 mph) or more. OK: The vehicle was not driven straight for a few seconds at 15 km/h (9 mph) or more. HINT: When the engine switch is turned on (IG), as steering angle sensor zero point calibration is not performed below 15 km/h (9 mph), VSC will not operate until the vehicle is driven straight for a few seconds at 15 km/h (9 mph) or more.
(a) Clear the DTCs. Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB > Clear DTCs(b) Turn the engine switch off. (c) Turn the engine switch on (IG). (d) Check the DTCs (vehicle stability control system) that are output. Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB > Trouble Codes
(a) Check that the tire of each wheel is the correct size. Click here OK: The tire of each wheel is the correct size.
(a) Turn the engine switch off. (b) Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) has been installed properly. Click here OK: The yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) is tightened to the specified torque. The yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) is not installed in a tilted position.
